How does training work?

Each day Tabiya picks the moves that are due, oldest first, and adds a few new ones. Play each move on the board. A right move comes back later each time: in 1, 3, 9, 21, then 60 days. A missed move comes back at the end of the session and again tomorrow. Only your side's moves are trained.

How do I add an opening?

In Repertoire, tap Add an opening. Pick one from the catalog, open a PGN file, or paste a Lichess study link. You can also share a PGN file to Tabiya from any app.

What is the Lichess token for?

Lichess's opening explorer only answers apps that send a token. With one, Tabiya shows the common replies your repertoire doesn't cover yet, and can spar with the replies Lichess players choose most. Create a token on lichess.org (it needs no permissions), copy it and paste it into Tabiya. It stays on your phone and is only sent to Lichess.

The reminder comes a few minutes early or late (Android)

Android sends reminders when it suits the battery. To get it at the exact time, turn on Settings › Apps › Tabiya › Alarms & reminders.

I don't get the reminder at all

Check that notifications are on for Tabiya in your phone's settings, and that the reminder has a time in Progress › Daily reminder. It skips days you've already trained.

Does Tabiya need the internet?

No. Training, exploring your lines and playing the engine all work offline. Only the Lichess features need a connection.

Can I move my progress to a new phone?

Tabiya has no account or sync. Your phone's own backup (iCloud, or your Google account on Android) can include Tabiya's data, so restoring that backup on a new phone can bring your progress with it.

How do I start an opening over?

Open the opening in Repertoire, tap the menu and choose Reset progress. Every move becomes new again. Your streak and past sessions stay.
